About me

Vilgot Ottestig

I've been interested in games for as long as I can remember, and I've been programming them since I was 11. I made browser games in JavaScript and shared them on KhanAcademy. Since then I've made games with many different tools and engines and I've never gotten tired of learning more ways to make games.

I took a programming-focused secondary education and that got me to where I am now, studying Game Programming at Futuregames in Stockholm. I chose the Advanced Gameplay Programming specialization because seeing players interact with mechanics I've made has always been the most fun part of game development to me.

Outside of programming and games, my interests include long-distance running, history and mathematics. I go out for runs 3 times per week and enjoy reading about history in my spare time. I've always loved mathematics, which led me to take extra courses, covering university-level math, in my education. My love of mathematics is deeply linked with my programming interest, and improving my problem solving skills in one has always helped with the other.
